“I Love Betty La Fea” is the Filipino remake of the series “Yo soy Betty, La Fea” The story revolves around an ugly girl named Beatriz Pengson or Betty for short, who works in Eco Moda, a posh advertising agency. There she meets her boss and love interest throughout the series Armando.

If your asking why a “Betty” post I was unfortunate enough to open my aging television just in time and saw an episode teaser of I love Betty La Fea scheduled for Monday (Jan 19, 2008). As a summary Betty is finally going to undergo an operation in order to become beautiful. The operation is being handled by famed cosmetic surgeon Vicky Belo. The teaser climaxed at what will Betty look like after the operation.

After much research I was able to get this picture! Lo and behold the new Betty after the operation!

How did that get in there? O.o

This is based on the rumors on ABS CBN’s plan to film the Filipino remake of Twilight. I’m one of the millions opposed to the idea but hey what the heck. Presenting to you an in-depth look at Takipsilim if it ever came to reality (insert evil laugh here)

Okay first stuff translations!

Twilight has five books. If this thing leads to five books what would they sound like:

TITLES:

Twilight = Takipsilim (Powerful!)

New Moon = Bagong Buwan (Breathtaking!)

Eclipse = Eklipse? Eh? (Anybody know what eclipse is in Tagalog?)

Breaking Dawn = Pa Bukang Liwayway (don’t laugh I’m trying really hard here)

Midnight Sun = Hatingabing Araw (not making any sense?)

Second the story!

PLOT/STORY:

Knowing the knack of Filipino TV stations in making rewrites and last minute additions I won’t be surprised if Edward found out that he was related to a Piolo Pascual played character or better yet Jacob dies in the ending by catching a bullet intended for Bella. Victoria will die with a grenade on her hand (after killing Bella’s father, mother, lola, and other love ones) o.O of course

CAST:

Let’s see if everybody fits the bill here:

Bella Swan: Ok I’ll be fair if I squint Shaina might just look like Bella (cough cough) but can she act the part? I’ll leave it for you folks to decide

Edward Cullen: Rayver as Edward hmmm? Not enough star material but if the Superman theory is correct meaning an actor who isn’t typecast as a particular personality he will have an easier time fitting the role (like Christopher Reeves in Superman)

Jacob Black: No word on who Jacob is but I’m nominating Matteo Guidicelli . What? Ohhh so he’s Italian not an Indian, well could you give me an Indian looking Filipino actor? Nah thought so.

Chief Swan/Charlie: Al Tantay’s cool but I would have preferred the character acting of Joel Torre who could have seriously played a good Charlie.

Emmett Cullen: Luis Manzano! Finally! You got one right! As an additional info if you type Luis Manzano on google images the first picture to come out is that of him half naked O.o my eyes.

Dr. Carlisle Cullen: Gabby Concepcion! Alright! That’s two.

Rosalie Hale: Karylle? Are you out of your freaking heads!? Why Rosalie? Put her in as Alice instead and you got the mysterious smiling vampire o.O

For Rosalie try Christine Reyes wink wink;)

Alice Cullen: No Alice yet but like I said Karylle is a better fit here. Although a little haircut is in order.

Jasper Whitlock: if you watched the movie Jasper looks like a constipated vampire ) just kidding. Why Joross Gamboa make it Rustom Padilla hehehe he looks like the movie actor who played Jasper.

Esme Cullen: Chin Chin Guiterrez! Okay, Okay 3 out of 13 ain’t bad. I think.

Victoria: Nikki Bacolod? Ehh um you know the part where your mum tells you that if you can’t say anything nice you better shut your trap? I’m feeling that right now. Victoria’s kinda pretty you know, not cute. Pretty.

Angela Webber: Empress Schuck? (OMG I can’t spell her name hehe) the hell, Angela’s prettier than Bella? Why is that again?

EFFECTS:

In fairness Twilight special effects are relatively easy to do just add tons of red stuff, a little harness wire, and lots of pasty makeup walaaah!!!! vampires

CONCLUSION?

Will bite me Rayver ever be a reality? You tell me )

It wasn’t even considered a fight. Manny Pacquiao was in control since round 1. The Golden boy was no match. Presenting a blow by blow of what happened in the Pacquiao vs Dela Hoya fight!

ROUND 1

De La Hoya closed as a 2-1 favorite. De La Hoya is minus-200 and Pacquiao is plus-170. The over-under is 9½ rounds. Pacquiao comes out with a slight weight advantage tonight. On the unofficial HBO scales, he weighed 148½ and De La Hoya was 147. De La Hoya is the aggressor early, but nothing lands in the first minute. Straight left from Pacquiao and then a combination from Pacquiao connects. Lead left by Pacquiao. Right to the body by Oscar. Manny misses a big hook. Straight left by Pacquiao. Combination to the head by De La Hoya backs Pacquiao up. Right by Oscar connects. Straight left by Manny.

ROUND 2

Lead right by De La Hoya and a right hook from Pacquiao. Double jab by De La Hoya. Pacquiao is circling away. Combination from Oscar but doesn’t land flush. Combination to the body by De La Hoya. Right-left from Pacquiao. De La Hoya’s face is reddened from the punches. Pacquiao left lands and then an uppercut. Lead left by Pacquiao keeps getting through. Difference in hand speed is stark. Hard jab and then a left by Pacquiao. Lead left by Pacquiao.

ROUND 3

Lead left from Pacquiao to open the round connects. De La Hoya has to stop that. De La Hoya is doing nothing offensively in first minute of round. Pacquiao flicks a jab that is short. Right to the head and left to the body from De La Hoya. Lead left again by Pacquiao. Left to the body from Pacquiao. Oscar seems befuddled. Right hook to the body from Pacquiao.

ROUND 5

De La Hoya connects with a jab, but first 30 seconds of round are very slow. They’re circling but not throwing much. Pacquiao lands a right hook. Triple jab from Pacquiao. Combination from Pacquiao backs De La Hoya up. The way this is going, it wouldn’t be a shock if De La Hoya were to quit on the stool at some point. He’s taking a tremendous amount of punishment. Body shot by Oscar lands and then two lefts. Oscar’s left eye is closing. He looks like a beaten, old and shot fighter.

ROUND 6

Nothing happens in first minute of round. Pacquiao lands left to body and a left to the cheek. They trade in the corner and Pacquiao gets the best of it. Straight left from Pacquiao lands. Hard straight left by Pacquiao snaps Oscar’s head back. De La Hoya’s left eye is a mess. Right by Pacquiao lands on that eye. This may be stopped soon by the corner.

ROUND 7

Lead right by De La Hoya lands to open the round. Pacquiao rakes De La Hoya with a three-punch combination. Double jab by Manny. Pacquiao batters De La Hoya into the corner. He’s pinned on the ropes and Pacquiao is firing away. Fight is close to ending. Pacquiao is hitting De La Hoya hard with everything he throws. Oscar is in big, big trouble. Left to the body by Pacquiao hurts Oscar. Oscar has never been beaten like this in any of his 44 previous fights. Pacquiao is overwhelming him.

Fight is stopped just as the round is set to begin. Manny Pacquiao is the winner. Official time is 3:00 of the eighth.
